Summary of Position
Under general supervision, assist in developing solutions and analyzing varied
problems in information technology for the Research Computing Center by using
professional expertise and the unit's policies and procedures; exercise
judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate
action and solutions; communicate information, ideas and instructions.
Acceptable Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, Associate's Degree and four years of
experience, or combination of education and experience equal to six years.
Thorough knowledge of RDBMS; working knowledge of Oracle PLSQL; understanding
of application/database interfacing. Strong oral and written communication
skills and excellent customer service skills to handle support requests, bug
reports, and other communication with users.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Knowledge of Datamart/Webi or similar reporting systems - Business Objects and/or Crystal
Reports; exposure to VB or similar application development. HTML5 mobile device
web development. Software web/database development with skills in Perl, HTML,
CSS, Javascript, MySQL, Apache, and Linux.
Additional Job Information:
The position will provide IT support to the staff of Sponsored Programs
Administration (22 people) and the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for
Research (3 people), as well as countless external customers who purchase
licenses for UNHCEMS or work with ERMA and/or the New Hampshire Institute for
Health Policy and Practice.
