The Java Developer I designs, codes and tests software as a part of the software development team responsible for building and maintaining the RightThingRecruit and ADP/Recruit products.

The Java Developer I develops program components from design specifications, maintains those components and makes revisions as necessary. He or she works under the direction of other team members in the completion of their programming duties.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Designs, codes and tests software using technologies, techniques, and tools to ensure high quality, performance, and reliability of basic program components.

-Following department coding standards, writing well documented programs that perform effectively and efficiently.

-Performs sufficient testing to verify program accuracy and reliability. Follows established procedures for developing test plans.

-Participates in specification, design, code, and test reviews of basic program components..

-Provides support for specification, design, testing, deployment, documentation, and production.

-Modifies existing applications with a minimum of program specifications. Investigates, analyzes, and resolves problems with programs.

-Has basic knowledge of assigned applications, systems, and programming standards.

-Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements:

Recent graduate or less than 2 years of experience performing software programming with the following expertise:

-Proficiency in Java and its class libraries Basic knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

-Some knowledge of additional languages (SmallTalk, Eiffel, Visual Basic) and/or platforms.

-Some knowledge of RDBMS and SQL

-Some knowledge of server-side deployment models
