The project is to work in cooperation with internal machine vision engineers to migrate an internal machine vision (MV) software package from VB6 to VB.net. The MV package operates on the Microsoft Windows operating system. The MV software package is a critical component of an internal MV system used in the production of various lighting product on automated equipment. Some of the MV applications include vision system guided robotics, part measurement and quality inspection.
- Under the guidance of senior machine vision engineers, the intern will initially work on compartmentalizing the existing code into appropriate objects, along with testing & validation of newly created objects.
- The next phase will be to move the objects from VB6 to VB.net and test & validate in the new environment.
- The final phase will be to demonstrate the complete application using VB.net.
- Software Development Interns will be an integral part of a software development product team. They will learn about the inner workings of a machine vision software package and contribute to the software itself.
