IT Student Outcomes
At the time of graduation a student should be able to:
(1) demonstrate an understanding of the basic principles of the programming process,
(2) demonstrate an understanding of the web and related delivery systems,
(3) demonstrate knowledge of underlying technologies such as computer organization and operating systems,
(4) demonstrate an understanding of networking principles,
(5) demonstrate an understanding of how to create and administer databases,
(6) demonstrate an understanding of the role of security in all aspects of IT,
(7) think abstractly and problem solve effectively,
(8) apply mathematical and scientific principles to the systematic solution of problems,
(9) participate effectively in the development of a project plan,
(10) function effectively as a member of a team,
(11) communicate in both written and oral form on technical topics with a range of both technical and nontechnical individuals,
(12) understand how to integrate a range of both hardware and software components in the solution of a problem,
(13) understand the core principles of and how to function within a least one domain area outside of IT,
(14) understand basic ethical, legal and professional issues and the importance of continuous professional development,
(15) understand the role of best practices in the profession, and
(16) demonstrate a broad background in the liberal arts.
