Google is hiring Corporate Engineering Support Technicians for 2013!

What is a Corporate Engineering Support Technician?

Corporate Engineering Support Technicians support an internal audience and work on all major desktop and mobile operating systems to support the IT needs of global offices of all sizes and Googlers of varying technical backgrounds. As a Technician, you're the first responder when Googlers say "aw, snap!" We are actively looking for those with IT or help desk experience, who possess strong written and verbal communication, and display excellent customer service skills. All majors welcome to apply!

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (In lieu of degree, 2 years relevant work experience)
  • 1 year relevant work experience, including demonstrated experience troubleshooting applications in UNIX/Linux/Mac/Windows; experience deploying and supporting desktops/laptops, phone systems, video conferencing and various wireless devices.
  • Strong attention to detail, written communication and experience creating clear self-service documentation (a sample will be required during on-site interviews).
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN and mobile computing environments.
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Fluent in English.

 

Responsibilities

Technicians provide support and troubleshoot applications in Linux, Mac, or Microsoft environments via e-mail, phone, chat and remote support to corporate network and applications. In addition to developing clear and concise self service documentation for end users. Successful technicians have strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
