IT Intern
Duration: Summer Internship (10 weeks)
Type of Internship: Paid
Approximate Hours: 16-20 hours per week
Description
Under the direction of the IT department the IT Intern will build and expand an existing LMS by performing the following:
- Creating online courses, presentations and training using applicable software
- Uploading IT policy files to increase utilization of LMS by internal employees.
- Creating quizzes, tests and surveys
- Creating step by step work instruction documentation
- Creating standard role based “training tracks”
Responsibilities
Expansion of Courseware Offering:
- Create additional MS Office courseware by utilization of, (including by not limited to): Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, video tutorials etc.
IT Policy File Transfer
- Collect and organize IT policy files for upload from common drives
- Assist in editing files for data transfer
Testing and Surveys
- Create tests, quizzes and surveys as evaluation tools to determine the effectiveness of courses and employee information retention.
Training Tracks
- Work with HR to brainstorm new employee learning requirements
- Create training tracks based on role based skills requirements
- Investigate system functionality to provide management dashboards and reporting
Documentation
- Create step by step work instructions for various processes
- Create learning tutorials via various appropriate mediums
- Create and add graphics to site to increase interest where appropriate
Course and Module Structure
- Build on existing structure to facilitate navigation to appropriate courseware
Skills Desired:
- Advanced computer skills: MS Office Suite, data entry, file transfer, understand role based hierarchies. Familiarity with LMS and online learning environments. Familiarity with graphics, video and presentation software.
- Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, scheduling, teaching experience and creativity a plus.
Required Majors
- Technology, Education major
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior in their undergraduate degree program.
