This course will involve several pre-announced quizzes designed to periodically check your mastery of the course material. Quizzes will be announced verbally at the beginning of lecture at least one week in advance. At my discretion, they may also be announced in writing on the What’s New page of this Web site.
Quizzes will begin precisely at the scheduled start of lecture and be precisely timed. If you arrive late for a quiz, you will be allowed only the balance of the allocated time to take the quiz.
Quizzes will consist of primarily of short answer questions, such as true-false, fill-in-the-blank and/or multiple choice. However, I do reserve the right to ask long answer questions that might require writing a handful of sentences or a short amount of code.
Since the quizzes will be announced in advance, I will not drop the lowest quiz grade at the end of the semester.
